Day 1 - 2

Day 1 - Arrival in Buonconvento

Welcome to the enchanting medieval town of Buonconvento, known for its rich history and 700-year-old walls. Upon your arrival, a transfer will take you to your charming agriturismo nestled in the beautiful countryside. A delectable Tuscan dinner will be ready for you. If you have rented bikes through us, they will be waiting at your accommodation.

Day 2 - 3

Day 2: Cycling Adventures Around Pieve a Salti

*-Circular Ride from Pieve a Salti to Monte Oliveto Maggiore* Begin your morning by cycling through the dramatic clay landscapes known as the "badlands". Next, dive into the thick woods of the "Crete Senesi" and find yourself at the renowned monastery of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, famous for its beautiful frescos and tranquil botanical garden. Soak in the art, rejuvenate your spirit, and refuel before you set off again. Your journey continues on a winding dirt road meandering through lush forests and expansive fields. Embrace the adventure! *-Circular Ride from Siena to Buonconvento* Start your day with a train trip to Siena, then set out on your bike over the serene and scenic "strade bianche" (gravel roads) and trails of the "badlands" in the Crete Senesi, marked by its unique and striking clay formations. Following sections of the historic Via Francigena pilgrim trail, pass through cypress-lined dirt roads and golden hills of corn. Discover the medieval hamlet of Radi, and challenge yourself with a moderately difficult single track before reaching the charming town of Buonconvento. *-Circular Ride from Buonconvento via Murlo-La Befa* Enjoy a ride through the pristine and abundant countryside along well-maintained dirt roads leading to Murlo. Marvel at the dense woods and ride along the scenic Crevole River. The trail will take you past steep cliffs, where the sweet scent of blooming yellow flowers will greet you, and through an enchanting oak forest to La Befa. Though a short section of roughly 300 meters might require you to walk due to its narrow and rocky terrain, the stunning vistas make the extra effort worthwhile.

Day 3 - 4

Day 3 - Ride from Pieve a Salti to Pienza

Begin your ride with an uphill climb to the renowned Monastery of Monte Oliveto Maggiore, celebrated for its exquisite frescoes and enchanting botanical garden. After nourishing your soul, take a winding route through isolated villages until you encounter a striking row of cypress trees, guiding you towards the breathtaking Sant’Anna in Camprena Monastery. Take time to admire its frescoes before concluding your day in the charming town of Pienza.

Day 4

Day 4 – Pienza Loop via Montepulciano

Start your day in the picturesque town of Pienza and embark on a scenic journey through the stunning countryside. Travel along beautifully panoramic roads, passing by the charming medieval hamlet of Monticchiello. Your route will take you along a dramatic limestone ridge, offering breathtaking views of the Val d'Orcia. Prepare yourself for a challenging climb as you make your way up to the enchanting town of Montepulciano. Once there, reward yourself with a glass of the renowned local Vino Nobile wine. After enjoying your time in Montepulciano, make your way back down to Pienza, feeling delighted and exhilarated from the day's adventure.

Day 4 - 5

Overnight in Pienza.

Day 5 - 6

Day 5 – Pienza to San Quirico d’Orcia

Today's journey takes you along mostly gravel roads through the gentle rolling hills of the picturesque Orcia Valley. You'll navigate some pebbly hairpin turns as you descend into the valley, ride along the banks of wooded rivers, and finally arrive at the enchanting medieval village of Bagno Vignoni. This charming hamlet, known for its therapeutic baths, is steeped in legend and home to the mythical water nymphs.

Day 6 - 7

Day 6 - Ride from San Quirico to Buonconvento

Embark on a scenic ride through vibrant sunflower fields as you journey into the heart of the renowned Brunello wine district. Tackle the challenging climb up a steep asphalt road to reach the fortified hilltop town of Montalcino, where you can explore the impressive 14th-century fortress and the historic Palazzo Comunale. With the silhouette of the Monte Amiata volcano as your backdrop, cycle through endless stretches of olive groves and vineyards. Your adventure concludes with an exhilarating return to the dramatic "badlands," providing a truly spectacular finale to this mountain biking tour.

Day 7

Day 7 - Farewell, Val d'Orcia!

After enjoying breakfast, a brief transfer will take you to Buonconvento (please coordinate the timing with the reception in advance). From there, you can catch a local bus or train to the airport, unless you have arranged a transfer or additional services with us. Safe travels!
